They’re baaaaack! I’m talking about sequin handbags, of course! You may remember a time when they were super hot. Then they were sort of super not. Now they are coming back and they are coming back strong! Some of the biggest designers are turning out sequined pieces this fall. I know, I know, you’re probably feeling a bit cautious. I was too. After all, sequins can be a very tricky thing when it comes to handbags. Sometimes it’s a toss up. Sequins can be gorgeous at times, while downright tacky at others. I think why the pieces I have seen so far this time around are working is because designers have been keeping it simple. Solid colors, smaller sequins, and old styles with a new (sequined) twist are all keys to making this trend a success. So keeping this in mind, I decided to track down some sequin handbags to feature here. Below you will find my favorites.
Prada Pailettes Sequin Frame Clutch. $1020
Simple and small. When it comes to sequins, that is definitely a safe route. But just because this clutch is on the small side doesn’t mean it isn’t a show stopper!
Fendi Peekaboo Sequin-Lined Handbag. $5350
Sometimes sequins don’t need to be in your face to have a powerful impact. There’s nothing like finding a little surprise inside an old favorite!
Vanessa Bruno Cabas Medium Shopper. $175
Who says sequins have to be all over? Or on an evening bag? This cotton tote is simply delightful and fun! I love the blue-grey hue too!
Dolce & Gabbana Sequin and Jacquard Sicily Bag. $1121
Mix things up by combining different textures! Sequins look great paired with jacquard fabric, just as long as it is all one color. In this case, everything is black.
