Laila, Cody And Roger, The CRPF Sniffer Dogs Have Detected 26 IEDs In The Last Decade

When the Indian armed forces have to sanitize an area, they not only put their intelligence skills to use but also their team of highly-efficient sniffer dogs, who can detect from miles away if there is a suspicious item located in an area.

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldiers take pride in their sniffer dog team, who have been trained thoroughly in detection of Improvised Explosive Device (IED)s. The canines have not only adapted well to the biting cold weather of Jammu and Kashmir but have also discharged their duties without fail.

These canines play an integral role in infantry patrols and upon attaining martyrdom, they are buried with full military honours. A CRPF sniffer dog Laila is an eight-year-old Labrador who operates on the stretch between CRPF battalion 110,130, 90 and 146 where over forty CRPF soldiers were martyred on February 14.
