Alexander Wang Chastity Heat Tech Clutch

How about a little throwback from the 1990s? When I was a kid, those Hypercolor t-shirts were all the rage. If you don’t know what I am talking about, Hypercolor t-shirts used thermochromic dyes. When the shirt was cool, it would be one color. When the shirt was warm, it would change to another color. These Hypercolor t-shirts would often show two colors at once, sort of like an ever-evolving tie-dye. I remember having one that changed between hot pink and light pink. My best friend had one that changed between blue and turquoise. As cool as they were, they weren’t that easy to care for. You could not wash them in warm water or dry them in a dryer. Otherwise, your Hypercolor t-shirt would be ruined. At this point, you are probably wondering why the heck I am talking about this. Well, I was just about to get to that. You see, I came across the Alexander Wang Chastity Heat Tech Large Clutch today and that Hypcolor t-shirt I had once loved so much immediately popped into my head.

Yep, Alexander Wang decided to take the iconic Chastity Clutch and make it into a heat-sensitive piece — something I have never seen in a handbag before. The leather was given a thermochromic finish. That’s right, the warmth of your hand will actually change the color of this clutch! The color change is subtle, giving this 1990s trend a much needed update. And since this is a clutch, you don’t have to worry so much about how you care for it. I mean, I don’t put my handbags in the washing machine. Do you? I do wonder though, what would happen if it was left inside a hot car.
