Unlike all other purse hooks, the Mon Mode brand is pure luxury and is engineered to work – NASA approved! The purse hook design is simple but genius. Each piece is decorated with an Art Deco inspired gem top and the top flips open like a compact to reveal a double sided mirror. The weight of the gem is heavy enough to hold just about any purse without a second thought of it falling off the table. The rubber bottom helps keep it in place too. It fits on any table size and when not in use, folds up into a neat little 3″ x (just under) 2″ bundle. Each compact accessory also comes with a sleeper cover for care. The hook fits most bag straps.. when I was playing around in my bag closet with different bags varying in handle strap sizes I soon discovered that the double pipped handles of the Louis Vuitton Keepall didn’t work so well, but by hanging by just one strap worked fine. With all my other bags that I tested it out on over over the week, it worked perfectly. I posted a couple modeling pictures below of my Balenciaga Day in Cornflower, Chanel Cerf, and petite Fendi Spy.
What’s also neat about Mon Mode (French translation, “my style”) is the variety of materials that it’s available in; such as crocodile, lizard, snakeskin, patent crocodile print, and the fabulous gem top in a range of colors. My favorite right now is the Green Envy Jewel for $50 and the gorgeous blue Periwinkle Lizard for $75. The Die Cut Monogram for $80 would make the perfect gift.. a perfect Mother’s Day gift perhaps?
Now you might be sitting there and asking yourself, do I really need a purse hook? Why is it really that important? Because you pay good money for your purses and should take good care of them!
For me, theft and germs are the 2 big ones that first come to mind. First it’s a horrible idea to put your bag on the back of your chair and out of sight. And second, germs, eww. Many of you probably don’t think too much about this, but I assure you even though you can’t see it, there are germs everywhere. I’m not a germaphobe, but one post in particular comes to mind by fellow blogger BRS. She had this to say about the potential germscape lurking on your favorite purse.
“The other day, I came across this interesting article over at Health Desk. The article was about the bottoms of our handbags and how they can threaten our health. Yep, turns out our handbags are very dirty… dirtier than we could probably ever imagine. Now I am not one of those people that sits my handbag on the floor next to the toilet in a public restroom, but I have seen many women that do. Yuck! I get queasy just thinking about it. However, I have been know to set my bag down on a chair in a restaurant (or, if a chair wasn’t available, the floor of a restaurant). Well, according to this article, nearly every handbag selected for the study tested high in some sort of bacteria. The types of bacteria they found included salmonella, e. coli, pseudomonas, and staphylococcus. The researchers said that lifestyle did play a role, with people who frequented night-clubs being the dirtiest. Apparently there are a lot of gross things like vomit that a bag could unwittingly come into contact with when inside a nightclub. So what’s a girl to do? No matter how careful we thing we are being, there is no way of knowing what our handbag is coming in contact with. Yep, for all you know some lady changed her kid’s diaper on the waiting room couch!”
So you can see why we are strong supporters of bag hooks. Especially for those of us who just don’t like putting purse cleaning products on our bags.. purse hooks are just the way to go… stylishly.
