Autumn Nations Series highlights: Australia edge past Scotland for important victory

Check out the highlights from the Autumn Nations Series as Australia claimed a big 16-15 triumph over Scotland at Murrayfield on Saturday.

In a stop-start encounter, the Wallabies opened the brighter, creating a number of opportunities, but it was the hosts that touched down first when Ollie Smith went over.

The Wallabies responded as Bernard Foley kicked a penalty after 16 minutes and then the fly-half scored another on the stroke of half-time for a 6-5 lead.

Scotland lose comfortable lead

Australia had the momentum and began the second period on the front foot but, once again, they paid for their errors as a dropped ball was pounced on by Blair Kinghorn.

The fly-half kicked ahead twice and recollected to cross the whitewash before he converted and added a three-pointer for a 15-6 advantage.

Scotland were in control but they conceded far too many penalties, helping the visitors to gain the field position for James Slipper to go over.

Gregor Townsend’s men continued to infringe with regularity and that enabled Foley to bisect the uprights for the winning score.
