Boubacar Kamara leaves door open to summer departure from Marseille

Speaking in a press conference on Thursday, Marseille defender/defensive midfielder Boubacar Kamara left the door open to a summer departure.

“I’d like to finish the season well, we have another 5 matches. Then pause this summer and think about what’s next. What would convince me to stay? It is more the sporting project, I have been a professional for four years, I have experienced a little bit of everything here. The sporting project will play into my decision. I remain focused on the coming matches, we will all pause and then we will think.”

“I do not know because I have been here since I was very young. I have never felt this desire to leave. But I think that I am ready to go anywhere with what I have experienced at Marseille. When you look at this season, we knew very well that we were not going to do it (the Champions’ League). There are four teams in front. It won’t be the Champions’ League that makes my decision to sign (a new deal) or not.”

Kamara’s contract with OM expires in 2022.
