As seen in 2017, WWE has created the plan of holding an NXT Takeover event over the same weekend as the “big four” PPV events, which are Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Survivor Series.
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has plans to upgrade the Money in the Bank PPV, and have it join the level of the big four PPV’s, expanding the concept to WWE’s “big five” yearly events. As we noted several weeks ago, the 2018 WWE Money in the Bank PPV will be a dual-brand event, featuring talent from both the Raw and Smackdown rosters. This year’s Money in the Bank PPV featured the first-ever Women’s MITB contract Ladder match, and it was won by Carmella, who has yet to cash-in.
To coincide with the Money in the Bank upgrade, WWE plans to hold an NXT Takeover event the Saturday night before the PPV, on June 16th, 2018, at The Allstate Arena in Chicago.

As of this writing, it is unknown how many Money in the Bank Ladder matches will be held in 2018, as the brands could be fighting for contracts which will offer shots at the WWE Universal, WWE, WWE Smackdown Women’s and WWE Raw Women’s Championships.
