Following his loss to Roman Reigns at WWE SummerSlam on Sunday night, former Universal Champion Brock Lesnar is finished with his current WWE obligations.
According to PWInsider.com, while the door is always open for Lesnar to return to WWE, the feeling within the company is that he will be taking some time of WWE so he can focus on his upcoming UFC fight against Daniel Cormier. Once Lesnar’s fight against Cormier is in the books, the belief is WWE would “love” to have Lesnar back.
As for Lesnar’s booking at SummerSlam, the idea behind having Braun Strowman at ringside was to take the focus off Lesnar and Reigns and the potential for the crowd to heavily boo the match. PWInsider.com speculated that Paul Heyman might have had something to do with the booking of the match, as WWE was hoping to avoid what happened with Brock Lesnar when he faced Bill Goldberg back in 2004.

In related news, there was a rumor floating around claiming Brock Lesnar was written into the Raw script this week then later removed, however that rumor is untrue, as WWE never had plans to use Lesnar on the show, despite the company and The Barclays Center advertising The Beast to appear. As noted, Lesnar flew home immediately after WWE SummerSlam on Sunday.
Another rumor floating around the internet claims that Triple H’s WWE Super Show-Down promo replaced a scheduled Lesnar and Heyman promo segment, however, that is not the case, and the Triple H promo was always the original plan in WWE.
