A lot of things come to mind when I think of Marc by Marc Jacobs handbags. They are fun, unique, and even a little bit quirky at times. That is what I love about Marc Jacobs though. The handbags in his diffusion line are never boring. But do you know what is sort of funny? That means that anything sophisticated-looking that comes from this line is a little more unusual. Well I stumbled across an “unusual” Marc by Marc Jacobs handbag today. Meet the Marc by Marc Jacobs Thunderdome Satchel!
I am a little confused by the name of this piece though. It certainly doesn’t remind me of a thunderdome (i.e. a steel framed dome). In fact, it really looks like a doctor’s bag to me. I love the framed opening that closes with a zipper, rather than a kiss lock clasp. The shape is sleek and structured, perfect for someone looking for a sophisticated look. Plus I love the richly textured leather that was used for this bag. It certainly is different and it adds a really nice extra touch. This bag would be great for everyday use and it appears to be quite versatile as well (thanks to an optional shoulder strap).
