Alexander McQueen x Yoshiyasu Tamura Manga Comic Collection

I am almost embarrassed to admit this, but my husband likes to watch anime. He isn’t a hardcore anime fan, but he does have a few shows that he cannot miss. So when I saw these pieces from the McQ Alexander McQueen Fall 2014 collection, I instantly recognized them for what they were. For the collection, Alexander McQueen’s diffusion line collaborated with Japanese artist Yoshiyasu Tamura. The illustrations seen throughout the collection are inspired by manga (or Japanese comics). The collection is meant to capture the essence of Japanese youth culture. It has been described as dynamic, loud, and modern. The collection includes clothing and accessory items. Below you will find some handbags featured in the collection.

Alexander McQueen Tech Denim Clutch. $240
Denim is slowly making a comeback. With the distressed look though, this denim reminds me of the 90s. However, since this is a small clutch, I think it is doable.

Alexander McQueen Manga Leather Bag. $460
This cross body bag features an allover print. I love the high contrast black and white. From a distance, you almost cannot tell it is a comic-inspired print.

Alexander McQueen Manga Leather Tote. $770
What better way to make a statement than to take that allover print and put it on a large tote? The picture becomes more complete when you have a larger “canvas”.
