Prada hasn’t really been on my radar these last few months, maybe even longer. Those basic structured pieces are fab for sure. But after seeing the same thing over and over again, you kind of start just glancing over them as you browse through the sea of handbags. So it’s nice to see Prada coming out with some more unusual designs. Check this one out, for example. It certainly is an eye-catcher! Introducing the Prada Blue Cabochon & Rhinestone Raso Clutch!
It probably isn’t too difficult to see what grabbed my attention. This unique little clutch is encrusted with about a zillion polished stones. What’s unusual is that these stones are cabochon, meaning they have been shaped into smooth, dome-like shapes. Usually when you see a jeweled clutch, the stones are faceted. What I don’t know, however, is what the stones are. They are called stones, but are they actually semi-precious gemstones (chalcedony comes to mind)? Or are they simply glass? I guess one wouldn’t know without seeing this clutch in person since such details have not been specified in the item description. Regardless of what the stones are made out of, I do find this piece rather intriguing. It has a slight vintage feeling to it, but not so much that I couldn’t see this being paired with a modern little black dress!
