Kerala is slowly getting back on its feet after being knocked down by a massive deluge that drowned the state. Amid the destruction, lakhs of people were displaced from their homes. After the water receded a little, the citizens came back to their homes and found snakes and crocodiles.

Along with a threat of an epidemic, people are scared of snake bite. Snakes are reportedly straying all over the flood-hit areas. To address this problem, hospitals are readying anti-venom and flood victims returning home in Kerala have been told to stay alert as receding waters leave behind a glut of snakes.
