After having his SummerSlam contract signing derailed tonight, Finn Balor is set to go one-on-one with Baron Corbin.
WWE has announced that Balor will face Corbin on next Friday’s episode of SmackDown. The show is taking place at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.
There was a contract signing on tonight’s SmackDown where WWE promoted that Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Balor would be made official for SummerSlam. But before Balor could sign the contract, Corbin took him out. Corbin then tried to sign the contract instead. But John Cena attacked Corbin and signed the contract.
WWE has confirmed that Reigns will defend his Universal Championship against Cena at SummerSlam.
Balor re-joined the main roster when he returned to SmackDown two weeks ago. He had been part of NXT since returning to the brand in October 2019.
Balor defeated Sami Zayn on SmackDown last week.
Corbin is currently involved in a storyline where he’s down on his luck after losing his King of the Ring crown and his money. Corbin lost his crown to Shinsuke Nakamura on SmackDown last month.
Cena is advertised to appear at next week’s SmackDown.
