With summer nearly at our doorsteps, formal evening wear is probably the last thing on my mind. After all, summer is a time for casual and laid back style. Even more formal events, such as weddings, have a more casual feel to them during the summer months. So when I stumbled across the clutch you see here, I couldn’t help but feel it was a bit out of place season-wise. Just take a look at the Charlotte Olympia This Is Not A Bag Suede Clutch. I think you will agree with me.
Don’t get me wrong, this is a very lovely Charlotte Olympia clutch. When I first saw it, I was instantly intrigued by its vintage look and feel. The suede exterior, along with the gold tone ring encircling the bag and forming the handle, really give this piece that antique store quality that I love to see in formal clutches. Plus this piece is by Charlotte Olympia, meaning her unique signature is going to be incorporated into the design. Instead of her usual spider web though, this piece features a rhinestone encrusted spider on the front. Gorgeous, yes. But I am just not ready for a clutch as formal as this. It is currently on pre-order though, so maybe once it is officially available I will be ready to start thinking about fall.
